A day trip to Chinatown would not be complete without stopping in. ?The owners of this place are very welcoming and their passion for what they do really shines through when they talk up the products in the store and the designers who made them. This place has many items created by independent designers and artists; including prints, apparel, tons of jewelry, books, unique greeting cards, etc. ?I would definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for a fun and unique gift! ?Flock Shop would benefit those who need to have that “one of a kind” item that no one else has. ?I’m definitely hitting up flock shop for my holiday shopping this year. Its amazing how much you can pack into such a small space!
Bastion of hipsterdom in the heart of Chinatown. Home grown, cottage industry type stuff (i.e. book of short stories bound my staples and colored cardstock on a vintage typeface, feathered jewelry) mixed in with ironic eyewear, unique expensive t-shirts. Good for a look, but not sure if i would buy anything here. I guess that’s what makes me a yupster–still in training. Check out the Ooga Booga ?store upstairs–different items, more random.
Best place for something unique. They are the coolest people as well. After Soul Sessions, take a drunk walk there..and not for the munchies, for awesome fashion and Art!!All of their items are handmade by local artists, so even better. Take a gander, you won’t be disappointed..I should know, I’m pretty fresh myself ;)
This place is paradise! The unassuming storefront understates the oozing charm found inside. All of merchandise hits every point on the cute-to-awesome scale (even their plushies re-ignited my repressed plushie love because they were so friggin’ CUTE). Visit their website but DEFINITELY visit their store. Not only are the owners super-chill and down-to earth, there’s a ton of merchandise on location that you don’t see online :D
I am totally obsessed with this ultra cool shop and it’s even cooler owners.Specializing in “artisan” gifts this tiny store is big on unique selections ranging from jewelry to clothes to art. ?I hear that they are going to start carrying vintage clothing soon which literally makes me giddy with excitement. ?One of my favorite designers they currently feature is a woman who retools vintage purses, shoes and wallets with appliques. ?Awesome.I also love that they are a perfect example of how to use social media. ?Every email or post is useful and not shamelessly self promoting. They emailed to let me know they’d be participating in Amex’s small business give away where you could register for a free $25 gift card. ?Score!!Their prices are reasonable and their support of the road less decorated unparalleled.Hurry up with the clothes already!
I love this guy’s artwork! ?As we walked through Chinatown, we found his shop down one of the alleyways. ?He has great artwork, most of it done in Photoshop, but they are so unique and gorgeous that they are worth the money. ?Besides, where else can you get modern, cute, beautiful pieces of artwork for less than 100 dollars for most of the prints? ?There are also ADORABLE mushroom figurines that are kind of expensive, but they are worth it in my opinion. ?If you want unique artwork that kids and adults will love, come here. ?They also carry purses, wallets, and jewelry that are all originals.
Why has everyone given this place 5 stars? Because this store works better than Prozac when it comes to making us happy.Michelle, the owner, is literally the coolest. Ever. She’ll remember your name. She’ll invite you to stuff. She’ll make great jokes. She’ll remember where you work and where you’ve traveled to and what you like to do for fun. She’s a friend you feel totally relaxed around at all times. She’s not fakey or “customer service-y” at all. Just a real, awesome lady. The stuff in the store has to be good or she won’t put it in. She’s totally a supporter of local, talented designers. Even if I can’t afford to buy, I love seeing what people in my city are up to. And the location is so cool. What’s not to love about Chinatown? This was one of the first shops I stopped into when I first moved to LA and it’s still my favorite. Dudes, buy your girlfriends gifts here and they will love you. Prices are affordable, stuff is cool, vibe is perfect.
Here’s the skinny on Flock Shop: ? * For both men and women. ? * Indie designers. ? * Unique, fun, and clever designs. ? * Good price range; a little something for everybody. ? * Some designers use sustainable, recycled, or eco-friendly materials. ? * Supports artists by hosting regular art shows and events. ? * Welcoming service from owners, Michelle and Chad. ? * Expanded the shop space a few months ago.
wow, 22 straight 5 star reviews. Who am I to kill the streak?Love flock shop. ?I stumbled into this place after some dim sum one Sunday. ?Super tiny place in a great square in the heart of Chinatown, directly next to some great bars and clubs (Drinking/clubbing in Chinatown is well underrated, I always have a great time when I go out at night there)Everything they sell there is really cool. ?It’s a mix of jewelry, apparel, wallets fashion jewelry, cases, cool little knickknack things, etc etc etc. and a ton of art. Everything has great design to it, you can tell it was truly made by artists. ?Lots of great art all over the place here you can buy as well. ?I had to stop myself from blowing lots of money here, which I easily could have done. ?I haven’t been here in a good while but hoping to go back this week for their annual funk block party.Flock Shop hosts lots of parties in the square as well. ?Always some great DJs hanging around. Sign up on Facebook and keep track of all the events they put together, especially the funk festival. The woman that ran the place was very friendly and warmly welcomed me to all the events she puts together.Great prices as well!
I discovered this place before I had discovered Yelp and never got around to reviewing it until now. ?The owners Michelle and Chad are totally awesome! ?They are so friendly and easy to chat it up. ?I love the artwork and all the other products (shirts, wallets, jewelry) they sell. ?What I love about this place is they are promoting the work of artists, nothing in the store is mass produced, so you can get some nice pieces that you just can’t readily get anywhere and best of all you are supporting the arts. ?They are located Chinatown in the same plaza with the fountain you throw pennies into dishes for good fortune. Come down and support this store!!
great art with great people! charming place to visit when youre visiting chinatown. they carry original art, art prints, clothing, dolls, toys, jewelry, books, you name it. great for collecting, buying a unique fun gift, or just a little something for yourself. highly recommend visiting this place. very friendly too.
The epitome of what an independent business should be, Flock shop gets five stars and a smile from me.I popped by this afternoon to find that they have recently expanded their Chinatown hideaway to include more room for all of the fun goodies they keep in stock. What a pleasant surprise! The owners are incredibly gracious and warm. The walls are lined with creations from dozens of talented artists, and the shelves are thoughtfully packed with unique items that would make a perfect gift for a special person in your life. Flock has clothing from a variety of designers and artists including the ubiquitous Shark Toof! They also have some clever little greeting cards to go with whatever purchase you decide to make. Jewelry, accessories and a bit of home decor round out the selection. The absolute highlight of the place is the wonderful personality of the owners, Michelle and Chad who remembered me from months and months ago. I challenge you to find businesses that care enough about you to remember not only your face, but what you do for a living and who you were dating the last time you stopped by.There’s not much room for improvement here. Go support this shop!
A teeny boutique chock full of big surprises…handcarved earrings, restyled vintage purses and fedoras, hella funny greeting cards, local artist treats like hand-drawings, silkscreened tees & tiesThe owners are really nice, giving you the background on every artist that made whatever you’re pondering on purchasing. ?Everything seems to have a good story. ?This place was definitely the hidden highlight of my last visit to Chinatown.O and they let my doggie shop there, too. ?I should have an auto-5-star button for that ; )
Yeah, this place is awesome….when it’s open. What gives with the hours of operation?I’ve gone twice “during business hours” and it’s been closed.I even tried to call ahead and see if it was open. Answering machine indicated that regular biz hours would be observed.Not.Not going again.
If you’re looking for something unique and “L.A.” in the true sense of the term, come here. ?It’s a small shop with ?a large, frequently-updated collection of handcrafted and limited items. The staff is super nice, and they always have friends stopping by.I picked up these awesome feather earrings that just came in last week. ?They’re very well-made, unlike others that I’ve seen around town (even the ones that are more expensive!).When you shop here you often get one-of-a-kind items and support L.A. artists at the same time. ?Sign up on their email list because they do in-store events and promote other stores in a part of town that should be bustling.
I concur with others have said about this store – cool stuff rhinestone jewelry, super nice owner, go shop here. ?Now a story to relate. ?I was grabbing dinner in Chinatown before a Dodger game with a big group of people. ?I had ordered two tickets for the game online through Stubhub which is the only way you can do so. ?I swore I printed the tickets and brought them with me, but they ?just disappeared. ?Have no idea where they are. ?It was soon before the game and so all my friends coming were already on their way so none of them could print them out for me. ?I was frantically searching for an internet cafe or some place I could get online and print them. ?I remembered seeing this cool store earlier and thought, there is a chance they may have a printer and the person working there might (might being possibly unlikely but we can all hope) be nice enough to let me use it. ?The person working here (who turned out to be the owner) was more than nice. ?She went above and beyond. ?I walked in and asked her if she had a printer she might be willing to let me use. ?She said sure and I told her my problem. ?She was super nice to a complete stranger which is not as common as it should be – let me access my email, print the tickets, and was just very pleasant and kind. ?But to show you how great she was, her printer was low on black ink and so she changed her settings to print in color and on best quality so that the tickets would show up and it worked great. ?I call that great customer service, so if you are looking to buy stuff or sell stuff (since she does consignment too she told me), come here. ?It is behind the Wonder Bakery in the plaza across from Realm.
I feel like a dick for not having reviewed sooner but this place is awesome! ?The owner was extremely helpful and nice, even though I was being one of those totally annoying ask about everything customers. ?Soon after her husband came in and we started to talk about a party they were going to throw the following night. ?They were awesome they even offered me a DJ gig playing fidget house! ?Unfortunately I had to fly out the next day and wouldn’t be in town for that. ?The items they have there are completely unique and you would never be able to find them anywhere else. ?Also its tucked away at the end of old china town (which is an adventure in itself) in the back alley is a nice bar and a few other shops worth visiting. ?If your from out of town or have lived in LA for a while and burnt out on the same happenings check them out!
This place is more than just a great source of unique apparel and accessories. ?Whether you walk in during regular business hours, or during their occasional after-hours art exhibits, Flock Shop is a really chill place to just hang out and meet great new people, starting with the owners themselves. But if all you’re looking for is unique fits, I tell you, the stuff you’ll find here will make ya popular with ur friends n fam every X-Mas.
This is a hidden gem in Chinatown! Handmade designers and art with a controversial twist (I love my embroidered scarf that says “It’s so F— cold”) Shop every bit of this tiny shop and you’ll find tons of stuff that you have to have! They also do events with Chinatown “Make It Funky” and more!
This shop reminds me of those little independent clothing & accessory boutiques in NYC. They have a lot of independent colthing lines both for men and women, accesories, art and candles. I bought a handsigned print by Tyco there. The owners are really nice and they always have a jazz on a record player and a scented candle burning. Awesome.
This tucked-away shop has really fun, stylish, and unique giift items Stainless Steel Necklaces, art, and accessories for both men and women. The shop-owner is super friendly, and they don’t even charge that much for items that are mostly independently produced. I discovered a wonderful local artist named Joey Chou at her shop and had to buy one of his books. I would have bought more (like his prints and some toys) if I lived locally but I was just visiting from New York. I look forward to her online shop opening up but you really should stop by for a look!
Cute, unique artsy t-shirts accesories and stuff. I wandered in here after having lunch around the corner. My son loved the stuffed animals and I had to by the RGB necklace. BOMB!!! You should definately make a trip.
Love this place !!!! Always finding cool and unique art work here. Bought multiple items of jewelry for the wife too, Fun and friendly owners. They have special events almost every weekend. A must stop if your in Chinatown.
I love this place! ?Such a little secret back door in China town. Everything in there is truly unique! Best gift shop ever!I wish they were open later, I have tried like 3 times to get there after work and I miss them every time.FLOCK SHOP – what an amazing idea for a store!
Great shop! The owners are really nice and they have some great finds. I got a really cute jacket here and some gifts for friends. Definitely a great find in Chinatown. They do some art events too that you can find out about from the mailing list. Michelle is working on getting an online shop up and running so you will be able to shop her cool picks even if you aren’t in LA.
The best place to go to if you are looking for independent and local artist wears. ?I’ve bought what has to be my most favorite wallet yet and this is the first place that comes to mind when searching for gift ideas for friends.Art shows and promotional events are regularly held by the store bringing a warm, inviting atmosphere reflected well by the wonderful, personable owner running it. ?It’s often that first time customers become regulars due to the ever changing inventory of new, original items and the rapport built between the staff and shoppers.Definitely worth visiting if you find yourself in the Chinatown area
I found myself standing in front of the sign for this place and instantly remembered having read amazing reviews ?so I had to stop in! ?So glad we went in too. ?Shop features products from local artists. ?Handmade wallets, handmade jewelry, cards, etc. ?In addition to the great items they have for sale, the owners are really friendly. ?They said they are working on an online shop, which will be great.
The Flock Shop caught my attention from the moment I walked in. ?Unique art prints on the walls, 3D scarves, and might I say, free food by the cashier. ?Although this shop is a bit on the pricey end, the merchandise is well worth it. ?I’ve never seen accessories such as those sold here. ?I bought a wallet and bracelet (endpieces made of lego)
If you’re into one of a kind, unique, vintage, “hard to find” digs..this is the spot..!Truly a gem in Chi-town.
This place is rad for those quirky gift items. . When I stopped by they were giving out spiky lemonady happy drinky. . quenched my thirst!
Great shop with unique finds and fun and quirky art. Very friendly owners. Can’t wait for their next artist show in August.
Great store with New items and consigned items. ?It carries ?a variety of indie and local artist wears. ? Designers such as liz saintsing, old chola, el ponk, Aya Kato Tees & Others by Beautiful Decay . Hand Silkscreened Ties from Cyberoptix , Candles by Skeem . Tees by FREEGUMS . Sweaters & Dresses by Eternal Child . Supremebeing Fall . ?Cardboard Robot Jackets, Tees, Hats & Wallets . Early Jewelry . Nashelle ?Dittos ,Sweaters by Delicious . New Designs by SHARK TOOF! , and Wallets by Tiny Meat ..and a lot more. I recommend if you are in Downtown Chinatown..Its behind the Wonder Bakery..
One of the best places to buy cool artist t shirts and gifts in Los Angeles!
This shop is a well-hidden gem in Chinatown. We walked into it a week before their grand opening, and the owner was so sweet and helpful. I bought the cutest peacock earrings and a dope-ass reversible ninja hoodie for my boy. I need to get back soon!
I went to Chinatown this weekend specifically to check out The Flock Shop based on the reviews on Yelp and I was not disappointed. ?My head was spinning checking out all the awesome and unique items in the store including a fox named “Wilfredo” (Dad!). ?I met Michelle (one of the owners) who was really nice and friendly. ?I bought a couple unique wallets here. ?I will definitely be coming back. ?Come down and check them out!
stumbled across this killer boutique and fell in love instantly. being a boutique owner myself, i’m very aware of every detail. michelle and chad have done an outstanding job at stocking their shop with indie designer goods. they know their product and are amazingly friendly!! cool stuff AND great customer service? what more could you ask for? :)
Wow this place is awesome!!! ?To be honest with you, I”m a little flustered with the cost, it’s not the cheapest place but I guess the prices are somewhat reasonable considering the novelty. ?But yeah, the store feel and the owners are AWESOME!!! ?Merchandise on shelves are $10+ some stuff can get over $100 so if you’re looking for frugality , it is something to be considered.
What a great store. ?I got a really beautiful & unique wallet here. ?This place is awesome. Just go.
Small, thoughtful, independent artist supporting shop with cool stuff! It’s proof that Chinatown is more than touristy trinkets and restaurants.
I don’t think flock shop has one bad review. first discovered it back in 08 with my mom and sisters. we all went crazy buying stuff because everything is so cute and unique. everything i’ve ever bought from here always gets compliments. not to mention michelle (the owner) is seriously one of the sweetest people ever! if you’re in china town stop in and take a look around :]
I absolutely love this place and Flock shop gets five stars and a huge smile from me. I popped by this afternoon to find that they have recently expanded their Chinatown hideaway to include more room for all of the fun goodies they keep in stock. What a pleasant surprise! All the owners are incredibly gracious and warm. The walls are lined with creations from dozens of talented artists, and the shelves are thoughtfully packed with unique items that would make a perfect gift for a special person in your life. I challenge you to find businesses that care enough about you to remember not only your face, but what you do for a living and who you were dating the last time you stopped by. I absolutely love the Flock Shop and they get a two thumbs up from me!
Stumbled onto this place while at the Chinese New Year celebration downtown, and have been back again since. ?It’s a bit pricey, but definitely the kind of place to get something hip, unique, well-made, really a piece of art rather than the usual mass-produced stuff. ?Jewelry, accessories, t-shirts, hoodies, dresses, jeans, even ties… the most awesome ties ever! ?My boyfriend liked the store as much as I did, and we will both definitely go back. ?Also, the people working (the owners?) were super helpful and friendly and clearly care about what they are selling, and presumably about the local artists who sell it. ?Definitely supporting the scene. ?I can’t wait ’til I’m rich so I can shop here all the time!
I love my yellow-notebook-paper wallet! ?I get lots of compliments on it b/c of its originality, and it’s so handy and easy to “navigate.” I love this place! ?Everything in there is so unique and cool and makes me feel warm and fuzzy. ?I could easily spend an hour simply browsing. ?I also love their R-rated stuff, too :o )
like this place needs another review… but I love the flock shop! they carry lots of local & independent brands/designers as well as handmade items imported from all sorts of places. sometimes they have art shows and parties too! yeahhhh!

I was a nervous bundle as I walked into Jul Head. For some odd reason, I decided since I was in CA, I needed to get a piercing! WOOHOO! I mulled over it for 3 days and finally my friend picked me up and dragged me here and told me I was getting one. Oh dear goodness. But the girl at the front was super knowledgeable and nice and did not push anything on me. She answered all my questions and reassured me that I could talk to the piercer as well if I had any more. When I met my piercer, he asked which of us would be going first?I asked him: well, I’m pretty nervous. Should I watch and will it make me feel better? Him: You’re going first.Oh gawd.Piercing process begins… and minutes later, I’m done! It was such an awesome/exhilarating experience that I almost asked for another one on the spot. Haha. I ended up paying about $35 for my tragus and around 10$ for the medicated cleaner. Such good service that I kind of want to save all my piercing wants for anytime I’m in CA to go back to Jul Head!
I’m so glad to say that I have found my piercing shop. Boge and Peter were SUPER friendly and sweet and instantly made me feel at home. Peter did my rook piercing, and made it a point to talk me through the entire process so that I didn’t have any unpleasant surprises. Everything is super clean and sterile, and you have the option of choosing surgical stainless steel or titanium for your piercing jewelry (And you are given the pros and cons of each so you can make an informed decision). Prices are VERY reasonable; my piercing, came to $50 including titanium jewelry. They also have a ton of other body jewelry for sale, which was awesome Costume Jewelry, cause I was getting sick of my lame standard-issue industrial bar. All in all, an amazing find, and totally deserving of all of these five star reviews. I live in North Hollywood, and I would gladly go the ~25 mile drive to have these guys take care of me again. AND: They have an autograph wall you can sign when you’re done inflicting pain upon yourself. TOTALLY better than getting a lollipop at the doctor’s office!
I’ve never written a review before because I’m too lazy- but they deserve five stars.I went in to get my navel and two ear lobe piercings. $35 for two ear lobes and $25 (or $20?) for navel piercing. Things that make them kind of really awesome1) Prices. Getting such a low prices is hard to find (unless you’re shady and go to the swap meet)2) Selection. They had so much selection, not so much for ear lobes but those are always boring. Titanium option as well -which I did.3) And most importantly -the people. The lady in the front (I failed to get her name) was so nice and helpful. And Peter – the man who did the piercing – was so so friendly. We bonded a little too much that the piercings took a little bit longer than necessary, but nonetheless I went in for piercings and got some really good conversation as well. They’re just overall super nice, helpful, and most of all affordable :)
I’m just going to leave yet another 5 star review here. :) This place is fantastic! The girl at the front (didn’t get her name) was super nice and friendly, and so unpretentious. Sometimes I worry about going to piercing/tattoo places because I’m just getting the typical cartilage/navel piercing and nothing hardcore like other people so I think they might judge me. Not so! They are all very nice, and even called me a champ for getting 3 piercings all at once! I also really like the fact that they do piercings only, so you aren’t distracted by people getting inked right in front of you while you wait. Peter was great, so friendly and talkative and you can tell he really knows his stuff including the science behind cleaning the piercings. (SC alum what what) He even helped me pick out a prettier place for my helix piercings. I am sooooo happy with my navel and helix, and it’s only the second day so I guess I can’t tell but they seem to be healing up nicely. Oh and the price was great–$25 for navel, $20 apiece for cartilage including jewelry. I will definitely be returning again for my next ear decoration!
Service: 4.5Price: 4Cleanliness of bathroom: n/aOne of my best friends came to town. We, she and I, manage to do things I sometimes regret the next day. Getting this piercing was not one of those things. Neither was the at-home hair dye that I tried…… surprisingly. (I was sure I would either end up bald or with the oh-so-attractive-on-Asians blond hair.)Oh right, the piercing. The employee behind the counter with colorful hair (sorry, I didn’t catch your name) was so helpful in answering all my friend’s questions. She had many since it was her first “irregular” piercing. The piercer was friendly; though when he first came out, he was talking to a friend of his and wasn’t as attentive. But he’ll talk you throughout the process if you wish and make sure the piercing is exactly where you want it by marking the location with washable ink. Clean parlor, sterilized tools, great explanations: everything went smoothly. Definitely recommend.
PRICE-super cheap, $20 for a cartilageSERVICE-incredibly hospitable and friendly-Peter explained everything he was going to do very clearly; informative-answered all of the questions I had without any hesitationCLEANLINESS-clean parlor-sterilized jewelry/piercing instrumentsI would definitely recommend Jul Head.
So I don’t write very many reviews on yelp….although I should, because I rely heavily on them to find the best of the best. Anywho, I HAD to come and write a review about Jul Head…..now I know why they 5 stars and nothing less.I was just researching around for piercing places to get my second holes and cartilage done. I saw a few places in LA that had great reviews, but for some reason I decided to go with Jul Head. The first person you meet when you step into this place is Boge. She is such a sweetheart! Super friendly and cheery. This is what I want my service to be like. Not some person who acts like either I don’t exist or that I’m somehow wasting their time (believe me, I’ve run into that a lot) and it annoys the hell out of me! I’m PAYING for you to treat me like S***….ummm, NO. But this was def not the case here. Boge took the time to explain what jewelry they would be piercing me with and answered all my questions. I hungout for a bit until the Peter came in.Peter is AMAZING, just like Boge, he was super super friendly and personable. We gabbed about all kinds of stuff and he make me feel right at home. I wasn’t nervous too nervous about the pain, mainly because I have a decent pain tolerance overall. But he still let me know that he was using Lidocaine jelly to semi-numb the spot up (and it did the trick, lemme tell you!) Washed his hands, sterile tools, watched him take it right out of the bag. Now, I’m a nurse, so this is stuff I notice! : ) Great, great, great experience. He walked me right through and it including thorough aftercare and cleaning. It turned out so well!Thank you guys for giving me a great experience and really showing true hospitality and professionalism! I def will be going back to this place!
A very close friend of mine, Andrea (aka Boge or Drea is what I call her) works here. Enough about her.The shop was well kept. Lot’s of choices of body jewelry. Came here about a month ago in search of finding some belly rings and fake plugs. Drea was very helpful. It’s local and you don’t have the hassle of going to a tattoo parlor shop to get body jewelry or the mall. Has recommend this place to my friends and family :)
I decided to take my sister to get her cartilage pierced at Jul Head based on the high Yelp reviews and was pleasantly happy with the results. ?I decided on a whim to get a matching piercing with her.We walked in without an appointment at 3pm on a Saturday and was almost turned away. The woman at the front found an opening at 4:30 and gave it to us. ?It was so nice of her to do that and help us because I had a prior engagement later into the evening. ?We only waited about ten minutes for the piercer, Peter to sterilize his tools/clamps/etc. ?Peter was pleasant and accommodating. ?I was so nervous about the piercing but he put me at ease. ?The whole ordeal took an hour for both my sister and myself. ?And a lot of it was us chatting with Peter. ?He really took the time to explain to us how to clean the piercing and what to expect. ?He was thorough in his cleaning of the area to be pierced. ?I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. ?There needs to be more people in the industry like Peter. The cartilage piercing was $20 plus the jewelry. ?They are open all days but Sunday after 12noon.
Hands down THE place I will go from now on for any future piercings! ?Not that I’ve had a bad experience at other places, but Jul Head is definitely affordable and offers amazing friendly service. ?I love the people here! :D A few weeks ago, I tried out Jul Head based on all the great reviews this place had on Yelp. ?I had been considering getting a second earlobe piercing and a cartilage piercing on my right ear for a while.. ?The two earlobe piercings were $35 (w/ the needle) and the cartilage was $20. ?The earlobe piercings would be $15 if you use a gun, but I prefer the needle since it’s less trauma to the ear (I figure three new piercings is trauma enough for them :P ).Boj is an awesome receptionist who made me feel at home and answered clearly any questions I had about the cartilage piercing, which I was a little nervous about. ?I don’t remember the name of who did my piercing, but during the whole process, we basically chatted and laughed about random topics which really helped to distract from the momentarily pain of a needle getting pulled through my ears. ?For the cartilage, you can opt to use anesthesia. ?They use the really good stuff so my cartilage piercing actually hurt less than the earlobe piercings! ?Afterwards, Boj even sold me the large solution bottle for the price of the small one. Sweet! :)
I looked into this place on Yelp before going in and I am extremely glad, this place is fantastic. I walked in on a Friday 4 weeks ago with my boyfriend and we were just going to look at prices and before I knew it we both walked out with Prince Albert piercings. The prices were much better then we expected at 65$ each and since the lady behind the counter said there was no wait we both decided to go for it, in a somewhat spur of the moment thing. The procedure was a bit long but it was great because they explained everything that they were doing for each step. Everything was spectacularly clean and well sterilized. The piercer was very experienced and when it came to the actual piercing, he worked fast and precisely. He was friendly and very talkative which really helped keeping me from being too nervous. Overall it was next to painless, I just felt a slight and momentary pin prick. I didn’t bleed until the night of, which is common with this piercing. The piercing came with jewelry, just a standard 12 gauge 1/2 inch horseshoe, but if you get the piercing done try and talk them into a larger gauge, maybe 10, because the piercing does experience some discomfort if it is too thin. The rings come in both stainless surgical steel and titanium, but the titanium costs more. After 4 weeks I am completely healed up and am planning on stretching to a smaller gauge soon. The healing process went very well and was mostly event-less, I would recommend the H2Ocean spray they sell as it helps remove the debris that builds up along the metal on the ring. it is quite painful if the ring moves the debris into the piercing and the spray is very effective at removing it for you without having to pick it off by hand. I am excited about getting my next piercing here again. It is hard to imagine a better set up then what they have, and the shop is all about piercings so the attention is given to doing them right.
These guys are great! Reasonably priced and a great experience… Peter the piercer and Kathleen are super friendly… I will be back.
Spontaneous piercing urge assuaged. Robert is adoringly friendly and made the process very comfortable, quick, and easy even though I asked for four new piercings. Which I love and are perfect! The shop is extremely neat and clean.Best prices I’ve come across too, definitely coming back soon.
So, I’ve been wanting a rook and a cartilage piercing for a long time — a few years now. I finally got the courage to get the piercing and began my Yelp quest for a trusty piercer near home. Lo and behold, I found Jul Head, shining with 5 stars.I promptly followed them on Facebook, saw a recently rook piercing Robert did and was magically won over. The next night, I was in Jul Head waiting in line with other girls to get my rook pierced! It was a Friday night around 6:30 and it was crowded – about 3 girls before me and a couple after me. I’d call ahead and make an appointment if you’ve got other plans.Peter was there and he was as sweet as can be. My heart was pumping because I haven’t had any type of cartilage piercing before, so I was really afraid of the pain. But we started talking about pop culture, laughed about a few things and it all calmed me down! The rook piercing didn’t hurt as much as I thought, probably because I was enjoying myself! Woo.3 weeks later (today), I woke up and my rook piercing fell out because the ball was loose (probably my fault because i didn’t check & probably rubbed the area too vigorously with my q-tips). I went in today at lunch and they helped me put it back in with no questions asked.Overall, digging the service and the staff. I’ll definitely be coming back!
I absolutely love this place. Got my nose pierced for the first time today, I think by Robert but it was the best experience I’ve had piercings. LOVE LOVE LOVE
HANDS DOWN THE BEST TO GO FOR ANY PIERCING… Robert and Peter are not there to just take your money they will tell you like it is. If it wont work or wont look good they will let you know. ?They want to make sure you walk out of their shop feeling great. I had recently gotten my belly pierced by Robert and loved the place so soo soo sooo much I came back three days later for my ears, brought my sister to do her belly and a friend for her rook. I really don’t have anything to say about this place other than their AMAZING. Seriously if you want a place where you can feel comfortable this is the place to go!!! I love you guys cant wait for my next piercing see you guys in a few!!!
After telling all my friends how great the ear piercing experience was at Jul Head with Peter, I decided it was time to take it to another level and yelp it!My first experience with piercings was using a gun piercing (in Taiwan). ?The piercing itself was pretty easygoing, but it didn’t feel quite right. ?After 3 weeks of leaving the piercing in, I took it out to change it… and the left lobe had closed within 2 hours! ?So, I gave up on it and pulled the right piercing out too. After that, I did some research and watched another needle piercer (also in Taiwan)… seemed to require a lot more skill and you could control the angle of the piercing a lot better… something I had not thought about at all when I did my first piercing. ?When I was back in So Cal recently, I decided this was my chance to get my piercings re-done in a hygienic environment. ?Peter was really conscientious about washing his hands and putting on gloves… the piercing is also done in a private area of the shop, which is very organized and clean. ?All the people working in the shop are fun and friendly! ?It’s been over a week since my piercing and everything feels great about i! ?I highly recommend this place. ?The studs that come with the $35 fee are also really good… the posts are shorter than the one I had in my first experience with piercing, so you can totally sleep without being worried you’re going to jab yourself on the side of the head.
Peter and the receptionist kick ass. ?I felt super welcomed and Peter did a great job on my “rebellious” ear cartilage piercing. ?All for $20!My lame butt took out my original cartilage piercing for a job interview and I didn’t even get the job. ?One week later, I realized my piercing had closed so I yelped and found Jul Head and Peter. ?Peter examined my ear and suggested that I get it pierced over the original piercing since it was still healing. ?And even though I’m a grown ass woman, I was still pretty nervous. ?Peter didn’t mock me. ?Instead he said he was going to use this numbing thing and said I wouldn’t feel much. ? I didn’t. ?:)After it was over, Peter gave me all these tips and pointers (don’t use alcohol and/or hydrogen peroxide…do use salt water) and told me to call or come back if I have any issues or questions.I highly recommend Jul Head for all your piercing needs. ?Peter and friends are genuinely great peeps who do a great job.
Wish I had known about this place sooner!Back in January, I got snake bites over at My Tattoo, and I spent $75. I eventually took them off (really wish I hadn’t but I know I’ll re pierce them soon), and when I discovered this place over the summer, I found out for two lip piercings, it would have only cost me $45! So I know where I’ll be getting my lips re pierced.. :) Anyway, I was bored one night and was on Main St. w/ a few of my friends, and I decided then and there I wanted to get my cartilage pierced. Went in, and I couldn’t decide if I wanted one or two piercings, but everyone including Robert convinced me to go big or go home!I was pretty nervous (I always get nervous at the thought of a needle piercing through me) but Robert was funny and got me to relax a bit. He sterilized and double sterilized the needle and even showed me the process lol. Before I knew it, I had two more holes in my body, voila easy as that! When they’re done piercing you, they tell you to sign their tag wall. It’s a pretty cute idea haha but a lot of the space is filled up already :( If I remember correctly, I paid around $40 total, not including the $15 H2O & sea salt spray for cleaning. The environment here is great, definitely somewhere you should check out if you’re down for some new piercings :) Very professional, AND for the college student, AFFORDABLE!
I won’t be going to any random tattoo or mall shops for my jewelry/piercings anymore. The people who work/run the show at Jul Head are awesome!I came in today to get my nipples pierced, partially because it’s less than a mile from my house, and also because My Tattoo was closed. A friend and I came around five thirty, and there was only a ten minute wait, though if it had been a two hour wait, i wouldn’t have minded one bit. The girl Boj (sp?) and one of the owners Peter were soooo incredibly friendly and hilarious to talk to. (Side note: Boj’s pandora playlist playing in the shop was perfect, some Bone Thugs, some Kanye, and Shwayze thrown in for good measure). Anyway, on to the experience. Peter brought me into the back room and used alcohol wipes to sterilize my nips, and explained that any excessive rubbing alcohol is to be avoided like the PLAGUE, as it’s such sensitive tissue. He was really precise with lining up the dots he placed as a guide for the needle, because at the end of the day, neither of us would like if i had crooked nipple jewelry :/ The whole time he had my friend and I cracking up, a far cry from the awkwardness that I had anticipated from being topless in front of a stranger. I was super paranoid about the clamps, reading other people’s experiences online led me to believe that it was going to be awful, but as he clamped my left nipple first while i lied on the table, i wasn’t even sure that they were on until i looked down. I asked him how bad the actual piercing would be in relation to the clamps, but he mentioned that if the clamps didn’t hurt too badly, the piercing wouldn’t be very bad either. The next part, a deep breath in, needle inserted (mildly cringeworthy pain here), needle exiting the other side, and capped, to keep me from stabbing my hand accidentally wasn’t too bad. The kicker was the second one, which confused the shit out of me. Evidently, your endorphins are all released with the first one, and by the time the second one is pierced, you’re running low on pain relieving biochemical pain relievers or whatever. Damn you endorphins, you the process for my right nipple hurt like fuck.Afterwards, he talked me through aftercare and cleaning. I picked up some h2ocean and xpressions swabs to speed healing. i opted for the titanium bar instead of surgical steel for it’s lightness and reduced healing time, albeit at a slightly higher price. I picked up a couple labrets for my monroe too, and the selection of plugs is great. Kind of makes me wish i had the ears to suit them. Needless to say, after these bad boys heal i’m going to be coming back for more, hopefully some dermals. Thumbs up to Pete and Boj!
Omg awesome place for piercings! I’ve gotten my belly, nipple, industrial and spider bites pierced here. Its awesome and I love it customer service is great people are super friendly ;) needless to say I will continue to get pierced at jul head :D – xoxo gossip girl
I found out about Jul Head from here, yelp, and all the reviews were qreat and measured up to my experience there (:I qot 2 dermal piercinqs by Robert a couple days aqo. ?He was very sweet & easy to talk to. ? Also he was very careful & precise when he marked where the piercinqs would be. ?The actual piercinq did hurt more than I expected but the results were phenomenal; so worth it.!I wish I found out about this place before I qot my other piercinqs.! I will definitely be cominq back for future piercinqs & purchasinq jewelry :D
5 stars, easy. I called initially to inquire about two dermal piercings on my upper back, and the woman I spoke with on the phone was super friendly and cheerful. She immediately let me speak with Peter, the piercer, and he confirmed an appointment for me at 4:45PM. Thanks to traffic and my terrible estimation skills, I got there at 5:05PM, but Peter still kept my appointment, having the jewelry already sterilized and everything. I only waited 10 – 15min. He continued to explain the possible risks (cleaning my upper back dermals is so freaking difficult…) Plus, he was so kind, knowledgable, easygoing, and genuinely excited about his work. He was very careful in marking the two dots where I was to be pierced and was very conscientious of maintaining hygiene (changing gloves, multiple cleanings, etc). And, the actual piercings didn’t even hurt! Just a slight pinch! I think Peter’s is just good, haha. Plus, my friend who came in with me wanted to get something done on her ear, and he took care of her as well! She was tottering on the idea of an industrial, but Peter suggested a conch, and I whole heartedly approve. Soooo glad Peter could suggest a more unique piercing for my friend. :) To top it off, the woman at the desk gave me GREAT advice on piercing aftercare. AND I got to meet Robert, the other shop owner, for a few minutes as I was leaving , and he was just as awesome as Peter. Overall, this place is so incredibly affordable – dermals are $50/1, $90/2, $130/3, etc, getting cheaper as you get more. AND parking is super easy out front too! AND they have an awesome selection of jewelry + apparel. Okay, no more and’s.Yep. I will definitely be returning to Jul Head for all of my future piercing needs and bringing as many friends as I can.[Check out the picture I uploaded too!]
Jul Head is a great place. ?I got 3 lobe piercings for $25. ?The people there know what they’re doing and are extremely helpful. ?My cousin was considering getting an industrial and they explained to her the entire process include after-care so she knew what she was getting into. One of my lobe piercings got infected and the earring was sinking into my ear, so I went back in and they cleaned it up and switched the earring and it’s cleared up now. ?The store is clean and has a great atmosphere. ?I’ll be going back for my cartilage piercing and I would definitely recommend Jul Head to anyone looking for a new piercing or just to by new jewelry.
I cannot rave enough about this place! ? I was really nervous about getting my first cartilage piercing (yes, I’m a wimp) but stopped by JulHead after seeing the positive reviews. The lady working at the front was friendly and helped talk me through my anxiety. ?Peter did the piercing and he was absolutely great: professional and fun to chat with. ?I learned what a Jacob’s Ladder is… ?The place is super clean and neat and their piercings are all surgical steel or titanium. ?My lobe piercings have been getting infected so they gave me some titanium piercing posts to use and they’ve cleared up. ?It’s been about a month and my cartilage piercing is doing great. ?And, it was only $20!The only problem was the wait. ?There was only one person in front of me so I figured it wouldn’t take long… I ended up having to wait over an hour and a half for some unknown reason. ?My piercing only took about 10 minutes. ?I was a bit cranky when they finally got to me, but Peter was so nice and apologetic so I figure it was a rare occurrence. ?They do take reservations so I’ll do that next time.I’m now trying to find a reason to go back. ?Dermal piercings look really cool…
This is a great little shop. I met the owners, Robert and Peter, out one night, and noticed Peter’s dermal anchor. I asked them about it and they made such a profound impression on me that I drove to Alhambra from Redondo Beach during commute hours (1.5 hours) to get a dermal anchor. I wasn’t disappointed. The place is professional and CLEAN. I was greeted warmly by the young lady at the counter. Robert, an owner, then appeared smiling and greeted me by name before taking the time and care to make sure I properly was informed about my procedure. After selecting my jewelry, Robert performed the procedure without a hitch. Afterwards, he thoroughly explained the care and cleaning procedures and off I went. A month later, I returned just to have them check the piercing to ensure I was cleaning properly. I seen some disturbing consequences from not properly cleaning. I drove to Alhambra again. This time, it was Peter who greeted me by name with an infectious smile. I was a little surprised that he still remembered me by name after so much time. He checked the piercing and told me all was great. He then gave me some additional pointers in cleaning. I was thoroughly impressed. To sum it up, Peter, Robert and their staff get it! Big Time! They are true professionals! Prices are good too. I’d gladly pay more for what I got. ?Who knew that a chance meeting out one night would get me a sexy dermal anchor and gain respect for two gents who are out there doing their thang the right way! Cheers to you Jul Head!Anthony
After reading all the reviews here, I decided to try this place out last Friday. And here’s what I thought…I LOVED it!!! Here’s why:1. The vibe is friendly, the minute I walked in I was greeted by a super nice woman at the counter who made me feel welcome.2. They ONLY do piercings here which tells me they are interested in being excellent at what they do as opposed to being just another place where you can get pierced at a tattoo parlour. 3. They only use surgical steel or titanium when piercing. I’ve heard from people who know what they’re doing that you should never use anything else. Unfortunately, last time I got pierced at another place, they used plastic and I had a hard time healing properly as a result.4. The piercer, Peter, who is also one of the owners, was freakin’ AWESOME, PEOPLE!!! Not only did he make me feel completely at ease but he took his time and explained everything he was going to do and why. He also patiently answered any questions I had. I really liked him.I was completely happy with this place and would highly recommend it to anyone. So, if you’re reading reviews on Yelp because you want to have a good experience instead of a crappy one, COME HERE!
Awesome experience. Staff was super friendly and piercing was very easy. I got a conch piercing and it was only $40. Plus, Peter gave me a titanium stud for free because of an extra 5 minute wait. PIercing was painless. I went with my friend who got back dermals, and I was there to observe the whole process. Peter really knew what he was doing and made sure the piercing was exactly how the customer wanted it, no matter how long it took to figure out the positioning. He maintained a clean and friendly environment. I recommend this place to anyone looking for an affordable, clean piercing in a great, friendly environment!
I drove 5 miles instead of going to the studios nearby just to come here to get my earlobe piercings (first time!) As expected, the girl at the front desk was superrrr nice, and Robert, my piercer, was extremely precise about the measurements. I got my piercings done with a sterilized needle for $35, including the hypoallergenic starter studs; it costs about $15 with a gun. However, I have no idea which one is better or less painful.. But everything went perfectly and all was done in less than 10 minutesThe seasalt solution was $15, which I thought was kind of a rip-off… At least it works well :) I’m 17, so I had to get my mother to sign this parent consent form thing. This place is great and the owners/workers are responsible – I definitely recommend coming here! P.S. I emailed another piercing studio last night, and they JUST replied to me. Getting piercings there costs minimum $75, so you know what to do ;)
Note: This isn’t a review for a piercing. I will be working on that since I will be getting a few dermal piercings here soon :) This is for the actual shop and jewelry. I was in need of getting a new industrial bar because my plain silver one wasn’t cutting it. I’ve had the piercing for about a year so I figured now is the time to try to get it together and buy new jewelry. My friend had told a friend that this place was close by and cheap. We called first and sure enough, very reasonable prices and very close by to my home. We went in at around 4, not crowded but a nice ambiance. Small, very clean and well kept. There were three workers. I mainly talked to Peter and Boge (Love that girl to death). Boge helped me and my friend find the right piercings and told us the deals going on with the jewelry. I told her my problems in the past with my industrial jewelry being too tight that it wouldn’t come off and she said she could handle it. I loved her sense of humor! Boge cleaned my ear, and put the jewelry on for me, completely painless! I got two for 20$ and they take debit and credit too :) Boge and Peter also answered any questions about my industrial piercing and dermas for me which I really appreciated. Overall, great service, serious professionals and lots of sarcasm. Love :) Please check it out!
I went into JulHead after a few months of having my tragus done. ?I got my tragus pierced at Prix on Sunset, and ended up paying $80. ?I didn’t know general piercing prices so I just paid it, and hoped other piercing would be cheaper. ?JULHEAD ONLY CHARGES $20 FOR A TRAGUS PIERCING. ?Needless to ay, their prices are incredible.I happened upon JulHead by searching for piercing parlors closer to Pasadena so I didn’t have to drive to LA. ?I called and was told that the owner, Peter, would be out of the shop at 4, and he was the only one that was able to do my rook.I ended up at the shop at about 5:30. ?He selflessly stayed and waited to pierce me. ?My friend and I got clean, painless piercing (my rook, and her anti-tragus). ?He explained every process, every antiseptic, and the reasoning behind everything he uses and does. ?Every regulation was followed and detailed. Now, some people may be turned off by the fact that he only pierces with basic surgical steel or titanium jewelry, and not the fancy jewelry they want. ?Let me tell you, that my rook, pierced with titanium, healed about 10x faster than my tragus with the fancy jewelry. ?Please do not be turned away by this fact, and just know that Peter is there to help you heal faster and maintain your piercings as long as you can. Also, Peter and Robert, the piercers, are hysterical to converse with. What sets them even more apart from other parlors: THEY CARE. ?They will NOT pierce someone if they feel they may get infected (i.e. they will not pierce your rook and cartilage within two weeks of each other). ?THey are incredible.
Backstory: I’ve gotten my ears pierced before with a piercing gun at Claire’s, and I had an ongoing infection for about 5 months until one morning I woke up with a huge, swollen left earlobe. ?Basically, I took my earrings/studs out and let my ears heal, swearing to never get my ears pierced again. ?6 months later, doctors found the butterfly backing of my earring in my left earlobe (yes, my earlobe had healed over the backing and it had been stuck in my earlobe for 6 months and I never knew!). ?I had it removed, got stitches, and by then, I triple-swore I would never get my ears pierced ever again. ?Until….Review: Of course, a few years later, I wanted to get my ears pierced again. ?After lots of research, I realized that it is best to get your ears pierced with a needle. ?Needles are sterilized and are never reused. ?Piercing guns cause blunt force trauma to the earlobe, which can cause infections and issues with healing. ?Also, they can never be adequately sterilized. ?My fear of infections or my earlobe growing over the earring constantly scared me, so I knew I had to get my ears pierced with a needle. ?However, I was so afraid of a needle piercing my earlobe, but I finally gained the courage to go to Jul Head and get it done! ?I found out about Jul Head through all the amazing reviews here on Yelp, and even though I had to travel all the way from Torrance, it was definitely worth it.When I arrived rhinestone jewelry, one guy helped me choose which earrings (made surgical steel) I wanted. ?The receptionist sterilized them in a bag and told me to wait or come back in about 20 minutes, since there were already two people waiting before me. ?She could tell I was nervous, but she was very friendly and told me that there was nothing to be afraid of. ?After anxiously and nervously waiting for about 25 minutes, a guy (totally forgot his name!) called me to come to the back. ?He sat me down and I told him my “Claire’s horror story,” which explained to him why I was so terrified of getting my ears pierced. ?He was so friendly, funny, easy to talk to, and sweet! ?He made me feel at ease while he dotted my ears twice with a toothpick and explained the full procedure to me. ?He had me lay down, since he knew I was nervous, and pierced my left ear first (because of the scar tissue in that earlobe). ?When he pierced it, there was barely any pain and it was quicker than I imagined. ?He was very meticulous and spent a lot of time cleaning around the ear afterwards, which made me feel even better. ?After both of my ears were pierced, he informed me about how to clean my ears. ?Sea salt soaks are best, and this place sells a spray (H2Ocean) which is made of (basically) ocean salt and water that helps clean your new piercings. ?The whole piercing process took about 20-25 minutes, and I paid $35 (which includes the earrings and the needle piercing procedure).Anyways, my overall experience was amazing. ?I am so happy with my newly pierced ears. ?It’s been about a month, and I haven’t experienced any of the small infections that I used to get when I got my first piercings at Claire’s. ?I would definitely recommend Jul Head!
Jul head truly deserves ten stars for the amazing service, pricing, quality of products, knowledgable and super friendly staff, and amazing community rapport.Peter and Robert are shop owners and piercers. They carry only the best jewelry, apparel and shoes from local designers, and are constantly updating their knowledge of piercing to be on the cutting edge. Boge is the sweetest and most attentive shop girl you could ask for and always makes sure you leave satisfied. The staff here really make it worth the drive to Alhambra, easily topping any stiff piercing shop or unfriendly and unprepared jewelry store like hot topic. Along with all body jewelry they also sell home piercing kits, gift certificates, and carry information about upcoming local events like art shows, raves, and celebrations of all types. Stop by and get your ?holes plugged!
This place was recommended to me by my friend. I was told Peter (who pierced her) ?was really nice and he is really good at making you feel at ease. My co worker and I both went in together for belly piercings. It seemed really clean when I walked in and I was greeted by a team member. Peter was awesome! He talked to me about the different piercing metals, over viewed the procedure, he even showed me all the piercing materials so I’d know they were sterile. Everything he used was fully sterilized and legitimate. He talked me through the experience and he made me feel really comfortable and relaxed. I got to talk with Peter and Robert after. They are really friendly (and cute together!) and we couldn’t stop talking about astrology haha. They are both really fun. ?It’s been a little over a week and my piercing has had no problems. It’s super cute and I love it! They are also making some changes to the shop. Pretty soon there is going to be a wall post piercers can sign. I’ll be back to sign ?when I go to purchase some new belly jewelery! ?:)
Just got a piercing today on my left earlobe above my first piercing. Great amostphere. Chill place. Good selection. The receptionist was super nice and welcoming, and Peter, the guy who pierced my ear, was super friendly and made me less nervous. He was also great at explaing the aftercare and giving me some tips about piercings.Definitely going to go back here for some more earlobe peircings and a cartilage peircing. :)
wowww. i wish i knew of this place before i got my other ear piercings at the mall.. chinatown.. other places in hollywood.. this place is such a great find. i’m honestly sad i didn’t discover this until now. came really unsure of what i wanted. i really wanted my tragus pierced but i was afraid it wouldn’t look good, and it would be painful. however, robert really eased me throw it. and i swear i felt no pain! i got it about a month ago, and i’m pretty sure it’s healed. I play with it all the time.. (very bad i know) $30also got my 3rd lobe piercings done cuz i thought I might as well, and it was only $10the service and professional quality you receive her is amazing. they know what they’re doing. and they know whatsupp. the girl in the front was also super helpful. I already had 2 cartilage and 2 lobe piercings before and she made really helpful recommendations on where i should place etc. $25-30 for tragus, front helix$20-25 for cartilage$10 for 2 ear lobesi’m almost positive you won’t find another place better for the pricedefinitely coming back!
I absolutely love this store. It has every body jewelry I could ever need! They manage in piercings as well. It is very artsy. The way they display the jewelry is nice. They have it in glass cabinets hung on the walls. The manager of the store is tremendously nice. I stopped by this store two times in one day and he gave me a free tongue ring! (=This place is very inexpensive. You can buy 3 tongue rings for $10.00, belly rings – 2 for $10.00. This store also sells shoes and shirts.
$10 for one earlobe piercing, $15 for both ears, and those prices INCLUDE the jewelry. Definitely a good deal compared to the prices they charge at most places. They are ?knowledgeable about piercings than say Claire’s because it’s their speciality and they are particularly helpful in answering any questions. Robert, who did my ear piercings was professional and made me feel at ease. The place is very hygienic as well. HIghly recommended.
Nice clean place, nice people. Some times can get overrun with teenagers, mostly just from 2-4pm it seemed.I got my lip pierced and he was very nice and walked me through it. Same with my sister who got in industrial right after me.Prices on the piercing + jewelry are on the cheap side of fair. I’d definitely go back for any future piercings if I’m in California again.
Peter and Robert who are the owners of Jul head are good friends of mine. The store is clean and the staff is super friendly! They don’t rip people off! So if you are looking for a awesome store with friendly people stop by JUL HEAD. I have personally been pierced as well from Peter. His GREAT!!! ;)
this place is awesome… you get your piercings done by people who know what they are doing… and the variety of pieces they carry is sweet… plus for the few of us who are a lil more into larger piercings they will work with you and try and get you a nice piece if they don’t have it in stock… Andrea if very help full and the Peter is the man with the plan…they will tell it to you straight and how it is and not lie just to get your money… cheers
This place is amazingggg! And their prices are really reasonable. Out of the umpteen piercings I’ve gotten, this was the most professional experience. My friend and I went in today, she pierced her cartilage and I pierced 2 on my frontal helix. Both were amazing, and you can just tell they have experience. They answered all our questions and gave great advice. Definitely not my last time there
Such a great piercing parlor! ?The piercers are friendly, funny, and great at making you feel comfortable (no matter what you’re getting pierced!).
This is my first review on yelp. ?I was inspired to write one because of how much I loved this place. ?I had an appointment at another piercing/tattoo parlor at 4….but decided to roll in to Jul Head because of it’s 5 star yelp rating and the fact that it was 3 and I didn’t want to wait a whole hour to get pierced. ?The girl who greeted me at the door was so sweet and informed me that the cartilage piercing I wanted would be $20 (that includes the piercing and the jewelry). ?The other place was going to charge me $70….and that was with a $20 off special. ?Peter pierced me and he was the cutest guy ever. ?I loved his energy and his ability to make me completely relaxed before I got a needle stabbed through my ear. ?I described what I wanted and he gave me exactly that. ?Seriously….if you are looking to get pierced…go here. ?So friendly/so helpful/quick/easy/and pain free.*one thing is that I would not buy the aftercare solution. ?I bought it because I wanted to support their business, but if you are on a budget…the stuff is basically salt and water.
I’m so happy that I was recommended to this store by my coworkers! It is kind of easy to miss but it’s on 1st and main right next to the coldstones and starbucks. It’s an independent business owned by two very radical, friendly, down-to-earth kind of guys–Robert and Peter! (: They’re both really chill and you can tell by all the regular customers they get that drop by just to chit chat with them, check out sales and new merchandise – example? a few of my coworkers as well as myself! :D They have a wide selection of merchandise from tapers to plugs (of all sizes!), lip rings to belly rings, shoes to shirts. They also provide the service of piercing nearly everything; they just recently started doing implants too! They constantly get new products so be sure to check them out every so often! you’ll soon become a regular yourself ! (;I’d recommend anyone to Jul Head over Hot Topic or anywhere else any day.ps. they take credit cards and they also have gift cards you can get for your buddies too!
Not that I have experiences with piercings…BUT my friend and i got cartilage and she got four piercings in total. 5 dollars off every additional lobe piercing. great instructions with after care and follow up details as well.but what makes this place so great is that they are extremely professional, friendly, and hella funny. peter and ?mandi are so welcoming a it makes you feel like they’re prepping you for a massage- except for the part where they stab you. i would come back here again and i plan to for additional piercings. heck, so chill here you wouldn’t even know if if they smacked you but if they did, you’d like it and you’d ask to be tapped again.
5 stars for Peter cuz he was so friendly and funny by the time my ears were about to be pierced I wasn’t scared anymore at all! but one star off Cuz my total purchase ended up being $27 (including the cleaning solution) and compared to my friends who got theirs done for like $10 that’s like almost triple. BUT I guess if u want it done legit then u gotta pay the price! important stuff: -like everyone said Peter (one of the owners of the store) is super nice and totally cool :) I guess he’s the one that does all the piercings. – ear piercings are $15 with the gun and $20 per ear with the needle. – no appointment necessary! – Wednesday around 1- 2pm the store is filled with highschool kids who are probably regulars there cuz most of them looked like they just come in to hang out…so the stores kinda busy during that time and if youre not really crazy about crowds of highschool kiddies everywhere like I am, come earlier or another day!thinking about getting your ears pierced? your lip or your tongue? why not go down to the mall, or some nail salon, better yet, I heard its pretty cheap down in chinatown! ….not sold? lol neither was I. and so I turned to my trusty yelpers for some suggestions and came across Jul head. I entered the store totally terrified, I got my ears pierced when I was a baby so I had no recollection of the pain whatsoever. so yeah I was pretty scared to get my second piercings done. after picking out my earrings I waited about 10 mins while a previous customer went to get hers done. when it was finally my turn I went behind the curtains in the back and was greeted by Peter. lol while getting all the equipment ready he gossiped with me as if we were friendly next door neighbors :) calmed my nerves a bit. then he explained to me what was gonna happen, let me hear what the gun was gonna sound like when it was pressed (not as loud and scary as I imagined) and then carefully marked the spots on my ears to be pierced. the whole experienced took about 15 mins and it ended up not even hurting at all! :) thanks again Peter!! I really do love my piercings! ill definitely be letting all my friends know about your place and I hope your marathon went well!
Omg. I love this place. My friend got her back dimples pierced here and told me how decently priced this place was. I wanted to get my nips pierced so I decided to go here. I came in, and there was 1 person waiting in front of me for a nose piercing. I waited for about 15/20 minutes which isn’t bad. When it was my turn, I felt a little bit uncomfortable because I’m not used to showing random people my tits yanno? But the piercer (Peter) was like, I’m gay so I’m not into tits so don’t worry. It didn’t make me feel any less uncomfortable but whatever. So I took off my top and he examined my boobs to see how he was gonna do my piercings. He started off explaining to me about the tissue in your nipples and stuff about after care.Peter started talking about all these random things about his life like school and fighting and etc. Hahahaha. By the time he was ready to pierce me, I pretty much knew his life story. Just kidding. Buuuttt I was a lot less nervous! Let me say, each nipple took about a minute to pierce but damn, that shiet hurt sooo bad! Anyway, my point is, come here to get any of your piercings and Peter will never make you feel awkward! I love my nipple piercings and they’re totally aching while I write this review right now. Hahaha. I am coming back for more piercings. Wubwubwub this place! :D
I just got my cartilage pierced here today. I love it and I had a great experience. Everyone who works there is really friendly, especially Peter! He made conversation with me the entire time and made me laugh to make me less nervous. He also explains to you exactly what he’s doing which is always good to know. Surprisingly, it didn’t hurt as much as I thought it would and my ear hasn’t been hurting or turning red at all. Also, it was only $20!! I would definitely recommend coming here for piercings.
This is where you end up when you’re bored. I’m convinced of that. I had some friends from out of town and we were just bumming around one afternoon when someone mentioned that they kinda wanted to get a second set of piercings in their ears. So we yelped it and came across this place that’s pretty close to my house. I think I’ve walked by this place a bunch of times but never paid so much attention to it to notice it was a piercing shop. Anyways walked in and started looking around. The girl at the counter was all pierced up and super helpful. I wish I remember her name. But she answered all of our questions and really tried to persuade us to get piercings. Unfortunately my friend is super allergic to anything that’s not gold and they didn’t have any gold earrings. But then she suggested getting these plastic tube earrings since it’s not any kind of metal. They couldn’t guarantee that she wouldn’t have a reaction but it was her best bet. Also it could only be done by needle, no guns. Somehow I must’ve opened my big mouth and mentioned that getting a second set of piercings would be cool. Because then my friend said the dreaded “I’ll do it if you do it.” Darn you, peer pressure! Didn’t have a choice – and kinda wanted to see my friend get pierced with a needle. So I did it. Although I chicken out a bit and go with the gun piercing. I’m a little bit afraid of needles. Picked out a set of simple silver colored CZ earrings. The girl took me in the back, cleaned me up, marked where she was going to pierce, told me I have different shaped/sized ears and then just shot me with the gun. Easy-peesy, took like less than 10 minutes. Wasn’t really nervous at all – surprisingly, since I get nervous pretty easily. But it was my third go around – in addition to my first set of ear piercings, I have a cartilage piercing. Anyways it set me back $15, which I thought was a steal. Then it was my friend’s turn. They actually have to do a full on sterilization of the tools in a machine for 15 minutes. We waited patiently in the store, flipping through magazines. Finlly it was go time. We were actually allowed to go into the back and watch the owner (not sure if it was Peter or Robert) do it. We totally documented the whole experience – taking pictures. It was actually pretty cool – even with the blood and all. All done. And the whole thing was $20 per ear. Cool beans. Left as happy customers. I don’t recommend getting the cleaner – I think it was like $10 for the small bottle of basically salt and water. ?But you should clean your ears daily starting right away. Both of my friend’s and I ears got a bit infected because it took us a couple days to get the cleaning solution and start the regimen. Also try not to sleep on your sides because your ears will get aggravated. It’s been about a month since we got it done and everything is A-ok now.
Jul Head is a great, clean, fun, helpful body jewelry business in Alhambra. ?Peter, Robert and Boge are so helpful and friendly. They have a 5 star rating for a reason!! They’re amazingly approachable and honest. I had my right ear pierced a few weeks ago and LOVE it! If you want your body pierced….go to Jul Head! Seriously :-)
I was referred to this place by a friend and I have never been one to get spontaneous piercings or anything like that so I was super scared when I arrived. The workers were so nice and friendly and they really know how to make you feel comfortable especially if you’re like me and are freaking out because you’re scared of getting pierced. The cartilage was done first and I honestly didn’t expect it to be so easy to bear. Peter was so nice and so helpful in distracting me that I had no pain at all except for the initial pierce. The double piercings definitely hurt me but that’s just because they’re done with a gun and there’s no numbing cream on them.Went back today and got my navel pierced as well. I was extremely scared for this one but surprisingly I didn’t feel it at all. I even think it was better than my cartilage piercing. The prices are all fair and I would definitely recommend for you to come here if you want to get something pierced and you’re a little bit hesitant and/or scared because Peter is great and he helps explain exactly how to take care of your piercings and what to do if anything goes wrong, etc.
I found this place when it first opened on Main a couple years ago. I visited again recently and was happy to find such nice and friendly staff. The worker was really down to earth, informative, and fun to talk to. I got two earrings for my cartilage for $10. I thought it was a good price. They also have body jewelry in different color, shapes, sizes and styles for practically any piercing. Also, the have some attire sold in the back. There is a no exchange policy on body jewelry but that’s understandable, right? ?All in all, it is a clean place with nice staff.
i was just looking for a piercing place that is more affordable and i found this place on yelp..actually, you can barely see the place from the street (or maybe i was just looking the other way at the time) but when i entered the door, i was surprised to see that the place was so clean and nicely decorated.. This place got tons of earrings collection and the prices were very affordable. i bought mine for $5 or $8/pair.i was pierced by robert who was very friendly and funny. He’s also very knowledgeable about what he’s doing. He explained everything thoroughly and answer all my never-ending questions in detail. he made you feel so welcome and at home. there’s one bad thing about robert. He lied to me about how having my ear stretched ‘hurt a little’ when i wanted to pull my hair so hard. thats all ?my complain :D i would definitely comeback here for future piercing or just to buy some earrings.great customer service and good price and neat place!recommended!!!!
This place is the best and most professional place to go for piercings! They are friendly and the best at piercings! All they do is piercings and they are affordable! Prepare to be treated right! Peter is the best and he is awesome! You will wanna go back! Sanitary and clean too!!
Great place to get your piercings! I highly recommend it.They are super friendly, careful and the prices are really good! For a lip piercing its only $ 25. They have really good pricing for the jewelry too, we also bought two piercings for $ 10! Me and my sister got our piercings done by Robert , he was very professional and really we did not feel any pain at all. He’s also a very nice fun guy and makes sure you are ?feeling comfortable and at ease .
Okay , so like anyone else or maybe teens who come along here, you probably heard… OHHH why don’t you go to angie’s its cheaper. BLAH BLAH BLAH. Yeah… it is. But … you do know if anything happens to it, she won’t care. Julhead, peter & robert own it. They are PIERCERS i TRUST . I’ve had my nose, cartilage, and i wish i had my ears pierced here if i discovered them earlier. They have a policy where , if anything happens to your piercing, within the month, you can get it repierced. Prices are pretty average. Hey, you pay what you get right (:? I’ve met both. Robert pierced my nose, Peter did my cartilage. And i’ve got to say, they are SOOO friendly, you’ll lose your nerves. They know exactly what to tell you , and i just got my cartilage today actually. And i didn’t feel any pain at all, since Peter has his magical ways of distracting me. I SERIOUSLY recommend this place. You can even go back and THEY will REMEMBER you , and they’ll check up on your piercing. They do really care. And they do sell those h20 cans that spray salt water that help with piercings alot. 10 /12 bucks aren’t that bad. And no they aren’t trying to rip you off. to sum it off basically, since i’m new to this yelp stuff:Goods: -friendly/chill-caring-good policies / understanding-informative.Bads:?-pricing… but it’s understandable with all the hightech cleaning supplies and fresh needles to use for your piercing-maybe finding parking. after all it is mainstreet. I SERIOUSLY RECOMMEND you to go here.
Today my friend got her cartilage pierced and I bought new plugs. This place is amazing! The prices were great. I got 2 new plugs for 20 bucks and she got her cartilage pierced for 20. The people there were friendly, helpful, and great at their job. I recommend them. I felt like we were all friends after. Ahaha. Seriously though, go here. You won’t regret it.
very cool, interesting place.i don’t wear jewelry or any of the accessories that they sell, but i spent a lot of time walking around and looking at all of the merchandise. i did like some of the clothes and shoes towards the back of the store. the art spray painted on the wall is a whole different reason to go there.if you are in the area, stop by and check it out.
Just got pierced here!!! The experience was awesome!! Both guys were extremely friendly and might I add funny!!! I would highly recommend this place to anyone who was looking at getting a piercing! Very helpful as well! The pricing was very fair!! The place is clean! They make you feel very comfortable! It was all around a really great experience! If I get anything else pierced in the future, this is the first place I’m going!!!!!! 5 stars is well deserved!!!
I LOVE THEM i went in a couple of days ago to get my belly done i was so scared but the guy who helped me made me feel ok and it didnt hurt i am so going back to get my 3rd hole :)
Cool little store that just opened up in Alhambra. ?It’s easy to miss if you don’t look carefully. ?Sells mostly body jewelry and apparels. ?It’s rare for independent businesses like this to be opened without Hot Topic stealing every little emo boy and girls’ businesses away.I don’t wear any body jewelry myself but I do like quite a few shirts while I was in the store. ?They’re still in the process of setting the store up but it looked like a very clean place. ?Prices are very reasonable and the people there are nice. ?If you ever go in, ask for Peter or Robert and they’ll take care of you.
This lil shop is fantastic! I’ve purchased several items from this shop over the past few months. There’s always new stuff and the inventory is always changing so i’m always coming by. The guys that run the shop are pretty cool too!
after years of wanting an industrial piercing i finally got mine last night! i found Jul Head on yelp and after reading the 5 star reviews i had made an appointment and headed over last night. the price for an industrial was only 45 which i was extremely pleased with. other places charge like 60+ for an industrial. the place was clean and i believe robert was my piercer. he was super friendly and answered the questions my friend that came with me asked (i was too nervous to talk really, haha). but everything went well, it didn’t even hurt that much to get it pierced. definitely will go back for piercings!
Ive been going to Jul Head for about a year and i have never been disappointed. they have excellent service, pricing, quality of products, exquisite knowledge and awesome friendly staff. I recommend Jul Head with the highest expectations. they will not let you down.
i LOVE this store!! i bought a few v neck t-shirts from this store, and the shirts are SUPER comfortable. Great customer service and hot guys, what more can I ask for.
peter is the sweetest and nicest guy ever!!i got my industrial pierced here today, after being referred by many people to julhead. i live in arcadia and i went all the way down to alhambra to see what the hype was about! and honestly, it’s not hype if it’s the truth :) i was 100% satisfied, and i can tell that he’s really professional. staff is super duper nice and i will be going back here all the time for my piercings.during my industrial, after he got the first one down and was going onto the second piercing, i asked him if it hurt. he said no, it usually hurts less. relieved, being a low pain tolerance girl& all i thought hah not too bad :) and after the needle went through, shoot it really hurt. he told me later that he usually lies about it, and i’m so glad he did :) super considerate.

I always go to Westime on the first floor for my high end watches and then use Fast Fix on the 3rd floor to get my repairs. Recently I helped get her Baume and Mercier watch repaired there. The store is great with watches. The price is cheaper and the quality is just as good as Westime. Being in the same mall is convenient. If they move its still worth going here although less convenient.
Came here to change the battery on my garmin watch….$15 for the battery along with a one year warranty on the battery. ?Waited about 30 minutes. For some reason the watch wasn’t recognizing the footpod so the folks there totally helped me out and made sure the watch was working before letting me go.Excellent service..will be here again!!!
VERY pleased with the services I received here! They truly are fast. I had a sterling silver chain shortened and the open jump ring (which was bent and squashed) replaced. The employees were very nice and eager to assist. I was also able to get most of my shopping done at Nordstrom and H&M while I waited!
Great quality work for very reasonable prices! The staff is very professional and friendly. If you care about your jewelry, don’t skimp by going to some random cheap place just to save a few bucks. It’s worth it to get it done right, and this place definitely does a great job. Highly recommended!
I was given an MK watch from Nordstrom around Christmas and needed to have it resized, so we took it to the Nordstrom where it was purchased to see if they could do it, but they ended up redirected us to Fast Fix right outside Nordstrom on the Third Floor. Rather confusing, as the sales associate didn’t mention that it was in the mall rather than inside. But, minor detail aside, great experience. Since the watch was purchased at Nordstrom, the resizing was complimentary :) Friendly employees and the whole thing only took about 30 minutes. My watch fits great and I’ve had no problems with the clasp (when I previously had a watch resized I had terrible problems with the clasp afterward!). Great location since it’s in the mall – you can wander around & shop, or just sit on the bench located right out front until your item is done.
I went in to get a necklace fixed that I thought had seen it’s final day. ?It did not! ?It was a Fix-It success thanks to this little shop inside Westside Pavilion on Pico Blvd.I would definitely go back there to get other jewelry fixed. ?It was fast service, very inexpensive, and both of the staff that were there were so helpful and friendly :)
only took 15 minutes to adjust the size of my watch.Only 9.95$$ not bad
I brought my husband’s marathon medal in to be engraved on my lunch break -the salesgirl was VERY sweet and when I told her I was hoping to have it that afternoon as a surprise, the engraver told me he would bump me up in line so it would be done. When I returned after work, I wasn’t expecting it to be done but it was and I am very happy with the result. They were also very courteous about accepting the discount coupon I brought in. Overall very impressed and I will absolutely go there again for similar jobs. The only reason I’m withholding the last star is because the name I had engraved is slightly off center. I will go there again for engraving, eyeglass repair, etc but will continue to take my expensive jewelry to my jeweler.
I carelessly threw my pink, rhinestone, cat eyed glasses in the abyss of my giant purse. ?Moments later, I heard a sickening crunch. ?I peaked inside to find my Ferragamo glasses in two pieces. ?FML.I considered supergluing it back together, but I was advised by my friends that it would be a stupid idea. ?So, rather than gluing/taping it back together, I opted for some professional help. ?I first took my battered frames to the Lenscrafters at Westside Pavillion. ?They took one look and referred me to the “jewelry repair store next to the pretzel place”.Two floors up, on the other side of the mall was “Fast Fix Jewelry” boasting a one hour turnaround. ?I showed them my glasses and inquired about the price, thinking it would be around $20. ?Nope, it was $40! ?$40 for them to spend less than 5 minutes soldering it together. ?Price was ridiculous, but I paid. ?I didn’t feel like searching for another place as I needed it fixed asap.I ended up coming back the next day to pick them up. ?It was in one piece, but I’m still convinced I could used superglue for the same result. ?So they get 3 stars for putting the pieces back together and lose ?a star for the pricing.
I brought a pair of eyeglasses to these folks after the arm screw just kinda fell out. I made an attempt to repair the glasses myself, but found that either the socket or the screw were probably stripped. They repaired my glasses in well under ten minutes for an extremely reasonable price. I couldn’t have been happier to get in and out of the mall so quickly!
I go to the Fast-Fix at Wside Pav and the huge mall in the valley. ?I’m always pleased with the results. ?They do ring sizing, watch repair (removing links), buffing out jewelry, etc. ?The gentleman at the store on Pico is sweet and did an excellent job with my husband’s watch and my wedding ring set. ?I don’t know if they are considered more expensive than other places, but I would rather not risk it when taking in valuables. ?Even though the store name is cheesy, they do a great job.
I took my ring in to get resized. It was too big and would fall off. He gave me a great price (better than anywhere else I called) and even though he was busy, he was able to do it the same day. When I came back, it was a little too snug. He took it back and loosened it a bit. It was still a little snug, but told me to try it out for a few days and to bring it back if it was too small. A few days later, I decided to bring it back. He spent another 15 minutes working on it and it was perfect. He’ll clean your ring each time and make sure the sizing gets done right – and all for a great price.
Conveniently located, usually takes no more then 30 minutes to fix, and located inside a mall cabochon stones! It’s always a plus when you can shop while you wait for your watch to get repaired. I’ve gotten watch batteries changed here and they have a one time option or you pay a little more and get the lifetime option so if your battery ever dies, you can come bring it here and have it changed…. forever!!!! So long as their open I suppose…. Workers are more then friendly and always willing to work with you. Yay!
I can only recommend this place if you want a simple resizing or repair job with a lower value piece of jewelry. Anything higher end, don’t trust this place.. do better research and find a better place that does higher quality work for a more reasonable price. Speaking of price.. this place rips you off. Before it was fast fix jewelry, there was a similar looking jewelry repair shop here (many years ago) that had this excellent jeweler working and he sized several of my rings for $15 each. They were all difficult, stone-crusted rings Christmas bookmarks, and he did a perfect job. When it turned into Fast Fix I was surprised the price shot up so much, and the quality of work was nothing noteworthy. They charged around $40 for resizing a simple band that would cost $20 max elsewhere. I guess you are paying for the mall location? It surely could not be for quality…
so i have to disagree with the last review for this place. i just picked up a very expensive ring that i had repaired and couldn’t be more pleased.it is my favourite ring that i wear everyday, and when the tip of the stone chipped (its an unusual smokey topaz setting, with diamonds) i was distraught. on a whim, i tried Fast Fix. the ring had been there once before to be resized, and they did such a great job that i thought i would try my luck again. long story short, i was thrilled with the result. it took a little longer than i expected, but they called often to keep me informed of the progress. i did pay more than i expected, but there was a lot of work involved so i really didn’t mind.the end result was a fantastic repair and i shiny new ring! their service is lovely and i would certainly recommend them as more than just your mall repair shop.
i’ve had a few experiences with these folks….and i was super-pleased with everything they’ve done for me. ?my jewelry comes back looking better than i remember it when it was brand new. ?these folks also do watch batteries & repair, as well as engraving and eyeglass repair. ?it’s my go-to jeweler now. ?very knowlegeable, professional jewelry sets, and courteous! ?will definitely keep coming back!

A perfect ring — with IRONCLAD warranty and great customer service!I bought my ring as a wedding band three years ago — and have enjoyed everything about it. ?Its shine and engraving have proven immune to the extensive abuse I’ve subjected it to. ?I’ve hit it on things more times than I can remember, scratched on all kinds of surfaces including rough granite, and there was never a mark on it. ?That is until last week, when after completing a home improvement project I was thumping the head of a hammer into the palm of my left hand (remember, I did say I’ve beaten up my ring a lot) and must have hit the ring just the wrong way — and it broke. ?Not sure whether it was a crack from previous hits that finally gave way, a slight flaw in the metal, an unlucky angle, or some combination. ?Anyway, the ring didn’t shatter — it broke into a ‘c’ shape and the little fragment that would connect the ends.I sent the ring back to Titanium Kay (along with a copy my invoice gift ideas, which they so conveniently store online for their customers), hoping that they’d replace it for me under the warranty — even though it was clearly at least partly my fault. ?They replaced it for free. ?Not only that, they redid the engraving and shipped it out to me for free — and I had my replacement ring within a few days of them receiving it. ?Now THAT’S customer service and standing behind your product! ?The way Titanium Kay stands behind their product negates one of the few drawbacks of buying a tungsten ring — the fact that they are somewhat brittle (though you can be sure I’ll avoid hitting my new ring with a hammer). ?In some ways, however, this experience was also reassuring — because even though tungsten rings cannot be cut off in an emergency, it demonstrated that a tungsten ring could be intentionally broken fairly easily (to free an injured finger) by using a vice grip (or in a pinch even a hammer or rock).
I ordered my marital candidate (aka the “F” word) his wedding ring online at Titanium Kay, and I recommend them to everyone! ?I was surprised to find they are in Los Angeles, because I received the ring in just a couple of days all the way in Atlanta. ?It arrived with simple instructions to simply try on the ring to make sure it fits before sending it back (with the pre-paid mailing label provided) so that they can engrave it. ?After doing so, I got the ring back within the week. ?Their timing = top notch. ?The engraving = top notch. ?The ring = top notch.Sincerely,A Very Happy Customer
Ordered a ring from these guys. ?It came in two days, but they sent me a whole 1 size larger. ?I ordered a 11 and got a 12. ?I didn’t want to sound like an idiot when I called, so I went to Jared and they confirmed it was a 12, comfort fit or not. ?I then called the company and was told promptly by a foreign lady that it was a size 11, not a size 12 and that they couldn’t be wrong. ?I told her that I went to Jared and was again told that it was an 11 and that it was bigger because of the comfort fit. ??!?! WHAT? ?That doesn’t change the overall ring size, just the shape of the inside. ?She wouldn’t budge, so customer service is a JOKE. ?She was also very rude through out the whole entire conversation. ?I will ship this ring back, because I’m not going to waste my money. ?But I will be writing and will continue to call about this. It’s extremely unacceptable.
Why do some jewelers make shitty wedding bands for guys? I just don’t get it. I was stoked to find Titanium Kay online when i was searching for my wedding band. I kept finding plain gold / silver bands, squared rings with a single diamond accent, and other boring bands. Plus, i wanted a ring that would last personalized bookmarks, take a beating, and still look good. Navigating through their selection was easy. They have a large selection of tungsten, titanium, carbon fiber, bracelets, chains, cufflinks, and other stainless steel items. My choice was the centauri titanium with a black cable barrel ring. http://www.titaniumkay… The ring is easy to maintain and i think its unique and stands out. Oh, and i didn’t have to spend a boatload of cash on it too. I took a long ass time finding this ring. The order was submitted and within 3 business days, i had my ring. I love my ring and its gonna last until i croak.
This place is great! ?The selection is extensive and prices are cheap to boot. ?I was shopping around for a while for my wedding band and prices at other retail jewelry stores are easily 3-4 times more! ?Add free shipping to that and you’ve got a winner. ?I’ve made 2 online purchases from this store and the transactions couldn’t have been easier.
love this place diamand ring settings! ?Titanium kay has such a cool selection for wedding bands. ?I just ordered my 2nd ring from them and it arrived the next day to my surprise:) ?also the prices are very low! ?go look for yourself
Great customer service- super fast and responsive. ?And the ring arrived pretty much the next day. ?Couldn’t be happier.

Surprisingly, throughout California, Bella Findings is the only place that sells a plethora of high-end Costume Jewelry, high-metal grade, jewelry mounts such as pearl enhancers, earring styles, pendants Silver Jewelry, etc. ?You will be overwhelmed shopping here because it is always crowded. It is best shopping when Bella findings first opens because it won’t be so crowded!.
Pretty cool spot for beads and handcraft jewelry pieces.

I went shopping for earrings to give my wife for Valentine’s Day and was helped by a woman (Grace) who was knowledgeable, friendly, and interesting. After my purchase she even gave me a gift for one of my deserving disabled students. I’ll definitely be going back!
We brought a very nice solid gold watch to Grace Jewelers for a simple battery change. ?The woman working there said that she could do it. ?After several minutes of trying, she put the watch in a bag and told us that she was unable to open the back of the watch. ?We then looked at the back of the watch and it was gouged and she actually removed a fair amount of gold from the case and case back. ?She clearly had no idea what she was doing and lacked the skills to open a watch and change the battery without absolutely destroying the back of the watch. ?We really wish that she had simply told us that replacing a battery was a task that was beyond her skills so that we could have gone elsewhere. ?Instead, she told us that she could do it when she could not and then did not even apologize or acknowledge the damage done to the watch. ?We brought it to a nearby expert watchmaker specializing in fine timepieces and he immediately asked us “Who botched and destroyed this watch?” ?Thankfully, he was able to repair the damage done to the back of the watch, but it cost us quite a bit of money.Lesson to learn: do not bring Grace Jewelers anything of monetary or sentimental value CZ Jewelry! ?Although they are jewelers, they are not capable of working with gold and other soft metals without destroying them. ?They should not be trusted with a watch that is worth more than $100. ?Worse than that, they do not have the judgment to pass on a job that they don’t have the skills to complete. ?Equally as troubling as their lack of technical skills was the the fact that they couldn’t acknowledge mistakes and damage that they caused. ?Buyers beware!!!
Havin’ worked at Tiffany & Co. in Beverly Hills I have a pretty good idea of what to look for when I see other jewelry shops…. I was pleasantly surprised when I first walked into this crown jewel… (HAHA. Get it Crown Jewel?!?!?) I CRACK MYSELF UP SOMETIMES. However, Im not surprised when I do I come here and get exactly what I look for at a great price. Location: Glendon Avenue. It’s directly across from Westwood Brewin’ company, and next to Acapulco and Angelinos!Parking: Plenty of parking in Broxton Avenue in the public lot/do your shopping in Trader Joe’s and walk on over. It’s super closeHours: They are open from Tuesday-Sat. Normal business hours I believe however I have made special calls in the past if I wanted to pick something up at a later time or if I needed something in a specific time frame. Employees: The main person I have ever dealt with is this lady name Dru. She’s super sweet and extremely helpful. She loves the fact that I’m a former Bruin and always gives me a discount cause we share our love for the bruins and hatred for USC Antique Costume Jewelry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Services: Wanna buy your girlfriend some earrings from graduation? or thinkin about gettin’ an engagement ring? (Not for a while for me…… WHEW!) In addition, I’ve gotten my old man’s watch band replaced and battery changed for an extremely cheap price. I’m really surprised at how cheap and fast they do it. Prices: Dependin’ on your budget they will definitely work with you. The good thing about them is I’ve been on a student budget or had a certain price range that I only wanted to spend and they did indeed help me out which is rare in these kinds of places. *I’ve referring a lot of my friends to this place when they were looking to get something appraised, re-sized or just a small present on a tight budget. This place has a really mom and pops feel to it. That is why I feel very comfortable and right at home. Ask for Dru. Tell her your boy JY sent you….. She’ll hook you up proper! She looves me! HAHA. Just kidding. **If you’re lookin’ for a good place with quality jewels. I’d say look no further. However, if you’re definitely lookin’ for a nice blue box with a white ribbon….. You know where I used to work.
I went in for a custom design job with my fiancee and the outcome was amazing! I told them what my budget was, what quality I wanted and showed them pictures of the ring I liked.. and voila! The ring came out perfect!(D flawless, asher cut pearl earrings, white gold)I got referred by my cousin, and they are a secret gem in Westwood, no point in going to BH when I can get better quality, craftsmanship and exactly what I want at a private store.Professional and friendly and works with what you want!
My mother bought a gorgeous gold band with tiny diamonds as a gift to me. ?It was to be an heirloom. ?Just beautiful and one of a kind. ?It was one that was designed by the owner. ?I liked it because it didn’t look like a wedding band. Sorry, but most gold bands with diamonds look like either a wedding or an anniversary ring. ?But us professional single gals love rings with diamonds too, but without the wedding look! These jewelries are designed in mind not by what is currently in fashion for this year ?but will be in fashion for many years to come. ?One has to scout out and see their incredible display of artwork of jewelries! ?From rings to pendants. Incredible!Drew is very friendly and very helpful in helping one find the right type of jewelry. ?However, it is much fun just browsing around and discover the one that you are astounded to find because of the uniqueness. They also do excellent jewelry repair. ?I recommended a friend who had a very precious watch that had a great sentimental value to it. ?It was a gold watch that was given to her by her mother who had passed away, but the band needed to be repaired. ?She was very leery to have it repaired just anywhere. ?I bought her to Grace Jeweler & Co and she met with Drew. ?My friend felt very comfortable in having her watch repaired there. ?She was very pleased with the outcome and thanked me for referring her to them. ?They did a wonderful job!
Grace is awesome. ?She worked with us to find the perfect sapphire for a ring. ?She even had the jewelry size it while we went for a bite to eat. Also their inventory has variety so it’s not cookie cutter. ?They can customize from the norm or create from scratch. Very nice. ?Great location. ?S&S Hewko

My beautiful engagement ring came from Jewels by Joe. While I was not personally involved in choosing it, my fianc and I recently went back to the store to take a look at wedding bands and I must say… they have great selection of engagement rings, wedding rings and other jewelry. Service is great – staff is very knowledgeable, pleasant and helpful, but not pushy. I don’t like pushy and I find that jewelry stores are more often than not will try hard to sell you something. Not this place. And, most importantly, prices are very competitive.
AMAZING! Maya, Mr Joe and Mama Joe (Mayas Mom / Joes Wife). Its a family business. Awesome people! My experience was unlike any other jeweler. ?I definitely shopped around in downtown and these guys were so gentle and so helpful. ?I really expected hard sales and got the exact opposite. ?They really just wanted to fit something into my price range and not push the issue too much. ?Super helpful with diamond education and so patient with showing stones and settings. I could not find a better place to recommend. ?These peeps are top notch. ?I had a great a experience,Thanks so much Maya!!!My best to youdave garcia (recent buyer of a cushion cut diamond with a halo setting and mini d band)Muchas gracias!!!
I wish someone would have warned me about the quality of rings here because I’m definitely paying for it in the long run. ?My husband and I both bought our wedding bands here. ?My platinum diamond band cracked in 3 places 2 years later; literally cracked in half. ?Assuming they would help fix my band for free because this surely was a problem in the craftsmanship and does not occur with normal wear and tear; I was told this was my fault, it could have been anything I did including hitting a door handle too hard when I was opening it. ?I treat my jewelry extremely well and can’t imagine anything I do that would cause a platinum ring to crack 2 years after purchase. ?Long story short, they agreed to give me a white gold band in its place because it would cost them too much to fix the platinum. ?Oh and now 2 years after that, one of the diamonds fell out of the white gold band. ?I’m learning that sometimes it is better to pay more for my jewelry to ensure good craftsmanship and customer service.
This place was referred to me by a co-worker Stainless Steel Necklaces, and I couldn’t be more grateful to my co-worker. ?Maya, and fam, were very friendly and helpful. ?I think we both walked away happy with what we got, and that’s fair in my mind. ?Definitely a place worth checking out!
My husband bought my engagement ring here and I bought his wedding band here as well. ?The people who work here are absolute dolls! So sweet, kind and helpful. ?Maya was the best! (Not just because we share the same name ;) ?) ?My ring is BEYOND gorgeous and the quality is awesome! I get so many compliments on the quality of the diamonds and how sparkly it is Body jewelry! I was so glad that my husband didn’t have to go through the hassle of high pressure sales and steep prices at other jewelry stores. ?The band I purchased was 200 dollars less than I had seen it elsewhere. ?I am in LOVE with my ring and so thankful that my husband found Joe’s!
When searching for my engagement ring, my husband and I went to dozens of the jewelry stores ?and never found what we were looking for. We knew we wanted something custom made but thought it was way out of our price range…until we ended up at Jewels By Joe.Jewels By Joe was the last store we went to on the last day we visited the LA Jewelry District and we were SO SICK of being hustled and up-sold and just felt discouraged. Enter Maya/Jewels By Joe. She treated us like actual people even though we didn’t have a crazy huge budget. She listened to what we wanted, showed us any and everything we asked to see and discussed with us all of our options. We ended up with a BEAUTIFUL ring that was over twice the size we were expecting to be able to afford that we were able to custom design ourselves, with the help of Maya and Joe. I get compliments on my ring all the time…and just keep to myself how affordable it actually was. We were so happy we went back and bought our wedding bands and bridal jewelry there as well. ?They will clean and inspect your jewelry at any time for free. The customer service lasts for life. I am going back to have my ring cleaned and inspected tomorrow and just to chat with Maya and our wedding was a year and a half ago. Of course, do your own research and explore your options for yourself. But you can also do yourself a huge favor and save yourself a ton of time (and money!) by putting Jewels by Joe on your list of places to consider. We are customers for life!
What a wonderful experience to shop for an engagement ring and find Maya! She was helpful and knowledgeable and sooo not pushy! We had read a lot of good things about Jewels by Joe and shopped there first. We then shopped some more and we used them as a comparison but they were the best! I am a photographer and I have seen a lot of rings in my life and heard a lot of bad stories about buying rings, but Maya made it so easy.Thank you for a great shopping experience!Pierre Comtois
Maya is AMAZING! ?My fiance bought my ring from her after receiving a stellar recommendation from his brother-in-law (Maya made my fiance’s sister’s ring, a stunning Tacori replica that I have admired since she got it almost 6 years ago). ?Maya understood our vision for my ring immediately and executed the custom design flawlessly. ?She worked with my fiance for 6 Saturdays choosing the perfect stone (that’s what I call customer service!). ?In the end, I got THE ring of my dreams, I swear the little girl inside me thought it up years ago without my knowing it Pearl jewelry, and when I saw it in my fiance’s hand as he was on bended knee, I knew it was the ring I was always meant to wear. ?I have even found myself walking right past engagement ring displays at other jewelery stores, not even bothering to look (yes, past Tiffany, Harry Winston, and Cartier, something I NEVER would have imagined myself doing) because I know that no ring I will see in those windows could even come close to the one I have on my finger. ?We are officially Jewels by Joe customers for life!
My fiance went here for my ring after being referred by his sister. ?I can not ?put into words how gorgeous my ring is!!! ?After getting my ring we both went into see Maya to pick out our wedding bands. ?She knew my name from my fiance and treated me so special. ?Everyone there was so helpful and not pushy in any way. ?They truly have the best staff, prices, and selection. I would recommend this place to everyone. I know for certain that I will never go anywhere else for jewelry.
